Though I should say, sadly, 

Until today 

My father was a great man

He simply made the world better

more kind

more gentle

more respectful 

more caring

more inclusive

more fair

Dad loved his family 

Above all

He cheered on everyone from the sidelines

He attended every single event in our lives 

Above all

He absolutely cherished his wife of almost 60 years

Above all

He set an example 

Above all

He was generous in every way

Above all

He was sought as a mentor by many 

Above all 

He was incredibly loyal to Moravian Academy 

Above all

He loved his white 1965 Mustang 

Above all

He always wanted the best for everyone 

Above all

There was never malintent or ill will in his motives

Above all

He loved music so much it would bring him to tears

Above all

He was an amazing dancer 

Above all

Throughout his life he always remained true to himself, at his core

Above all

All my life he told me, his daughter, I could be the first woman President of the United States 

when I was too young to understand what that even meant 

Above all

That message stayed with me and stays with me

He was a father, a husband, a cousin, an uncle, a nephew, a son, a grandfather, a leader, a neighbor, a friend
